City permit
Every driver holds a valid City of San Diego pedicab driver permit. No permit, no rides.
Insurance
Drivers carry the insurance required to operate a pedicab in San Diego.

Power Chariots drivers wear the uniform, so you know who's driving you.

Trip records
Every prepaid ride has an emailed receipt and trip record: who drove you, when and for how much.
Code of conduct
What every driver agrees to
- Charge only the posted, prepaid fare. No curbside pricing and no extra charges at drop-off
- Never handle a rider's card and never add a tip. Tips are only what riders choose
- Follow traffic laws and ride at a safe speed for the crowd and conditions
- No more than six riders per chariot
- No phone use while riding, and never ride impaired
- Treat every rider, pedestrian and driver with respect
- Wear the uniform and keep the chariot clean and in safe working order
Zero tolerance
Lines that end a driver's run
Overcharging, adding a tip a rider didn't choose, unsafe or reckless riding, or threatening anyone means the driver is removed from Power Chariots. Where it's warranted, we report it to the City of San Diego and cooperate with police.
If something goes wrong
If you're in danger, call 911 first. Then report it to us or call (619) 648-4847. We respond to every report within 24 hours.
