Power Chariots is a VIP Pedicab company, founded by Ali Horuz and operated by VIP Pedicabs LLC. We built it to fix the most common complaint about downtown pedicabs: not knowing the price until the ride is over.

The founder
From driver to fleet owner
Ali Horuz came to the US in 2003 with $500 and started out pedaling a pedicab in downtown San Diego. He founded VIP Pedicab in 2008 and designs and builds his own pedicabs. Today VIP runs city-permitted pedicabs across downtown San Diego, and his electric pedicabs are on the road in cities across the country.
Twenty-plus years on the street taught him what riders hate most: getting off a pedicab and hearing a price for the first time. Power Chariots is his answer. Read Ali's story.
Why fixed fares
Every San Diego pedicab driver is licensed by the city and runs their own small business: their own prices, their own card reader, their own bank account. That's why a street hail can cost $30 one night and $100 the next, and why the number sometimes comes up only at drop-off.
Power Chariots sits on top of that system and takes the guesswork out. Every fare is posted online and paid up front: $20 per person anywhere in the downtown service area, and $40, $70 or $95 for a guided tour. Nothing is negotiated at the curb. How pedicab pricing works →
Who drives you
We only match riders with drivers who are city-permitted, insured and pass our internal qualifications. Drivers are trained, uniformed and held to written safety and conduct rules. See how we vet drivers →
Power Chariots partners with VIP Pedicabs, Elite Pedicabs and San Diego Pedicabs, so there are more chariots on the street when you need one. Every prepaid ride comes with an email receipt and trip record: who drove you, when and for how much.
