What we look for
How we vet every driver
Riders choose us because they can trust the driver as much as the price. Every Power Chariots driver must:
- Hold a valid City of San Diego pedicab driver permit, or get one before driving (we'll walk you through it)
- Carry the insurance required to operate
- Pass our ride test and safety training
- Agree to our written safety and conduct rules and wear the uniform
- Charge only the posted, prepaid fare. No curbside pricing, no handling rider cards, no added tips
Zero tolerance
The rules we don't bend
Overcharging, adding tips a rider didn't choose, unsafe riding or threatening anyone means you're off the platform. Riders can report a problem any time (see our full driver standards), and we respond to every report within 24 hours.
Power Chariots is a VIP Pedicab company. VIP has run San Diego pedicabs since 2008, so you're working with people who know the job.
