The fare
$20 per person. That's the whole price.
No meter, no per-block pricing and nothing added at drop-off. You see the fare, you pay it, you ride.
Flat fare per person
Any ride that starts and ends inside the service area. One block or across downtown, same price.
Up to 6 riders
Each chariot seats up to six, roughly double a standard pedicab. Bigger groups get as many chariots as they need at the same per-person fare.
Kids under 5 ride free
On an adult's lap. Tips are optional and go 100% to your driver.
Group math: 2 riders $40 · 4 riders $80 · 6 riders $120 · 8 riders (2 chariots) $160. See every fare in the pricing guide.
Service area
Where $20 takes you
Pickups and drop-offs anywhere inside the line. Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center are both inside it, and we add chariots on game days and convention nights. Not served: Coronado. See the exact boundary on Google Maps or browse all neighborhoods.
Three ways to ride
- Book online. Pick your ride, choose your riders and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Square. Pick "Now" or "Schedule" for later.
- Hop on by QR. See a Power Chariot on the street? Scan the QR code on the chariot, pick your destination, pay the posted fare and go. No app download needed.
- Text or call. Text (619) 648-4847 with where you are. We send a payment link and the nearest chariot.
When to book ahead
Most rides are on demand. Book ahead with "Schedule" for:
- Padres games at Petco Park, before first pitch and after the last out
- Comic-Con and convention weeks, when sessions let out
- Weddings and groups bigger than six (event bookings get one quote up front)
Plans change? Cancel up to 15 minutes before pickup for a full refund. Refund policy.
Street hail vs Power Chariots
Same streets. A fair way to pay.
Every San Diego pedicab driver is a city-licensed independent contractor running their own business, which is why curb prices range from $30 to $100 per person. How pedicab pricing actually works →
| Typical street hail | Power Chariots | |
|---|---|---|
| When you learn the price | Often negotiated at the curb, or quoted at the end | Shown before you book |
| How the price is set | Set by each driver; “per block” or “per minute” pricing that is hard to compare | One flat fare per person: $20 anywhere in the service area |
| When you pay | Cash or a card reader on the spot | Prepaid online or by text link, so nothing changes at drop-off |
| Receipt | Often none | Email receipt and trip record for every ride |
| Tip | Varies | Optional, 100% to your driver |
